History

Over the past few years the village of Bracklesham, near Chichester, has increased in size with several new housing developments in the area. In order to establish a meeting place for the surrounding community, the developers of these new homes contributed monies towards building an amenity to support the new housing. This money was further supplemented by The Big Lottery Fund and also West Sussex County Council to pay for the building of a new venue and meeting place which has now become Bracklesham Barn.

Bracklesham Barn opened in Spring 2011

During the planning stage of Bracklesham Barn a lot of work has been carried out by community groups, the Parish Council and the District Council to co-ordinate the building and running of the centre. This huge building project was overseen by Chichester District Council and was completed in April 2011 and handed over to East Wittering and Bracklesham Parish Council to run. Bracklesham Barn now provides the area with an ideal venue to hire for wedding receptions, parties, business conferences as well as community activities.

Working together for the Bracklesham community

Thanks to the efforts of all the aforementioned organisations and the unfailing support of a team of volunteers who are involved, Bracklesham Barn has now taken its place at the heart of the community to serve as a meeting place and venue for all occasions.
